HARRISBURG – Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) announced today a $240,000 state grant was awarded to Waste Management of Pennsylvania, Inc. in Washington County for the purchase of eight Compressed Natural Gas Class 8 tractors.
The grant is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant (AFIG) program, which supports projects to replace older gasoline or diesel-fueled vehicles.
“This investment is a big win for supporting efficient, forward-looking operations,” Bartolotta said. “Programs like the Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant are critical to encouraging innovation and ensuring Pennsylvania remains a leader in responsible energy use.”
The second round of 2026 AFIG grant applications closes Oct. 7. More information is available on the AFIG Program webpage.
