Bartolotta Celebrates Greene County Educator Named 2026 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year

HARRISBURG – Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) today congratulated Madeline Loring, a fourth-grade educator at Jefferson-Morgan Elementary School in Greene County, on being named the 2026 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year. This is a distinguished honor that brings statewide recognition to an outstanding teacher in the 46th Senatorial District.

“This is an incredible moment for our region,” Bartolotta said. “Madeline represents the very best of our classrooms and is warm, committed and unwavering in her belief in what her students can achieve. Greene County is proud, and the entire commonwealth is better because of educators like her.”

The Teacher of the Year program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in partnership with the Pennsylvania chapter of the National State Teacher of the Year, recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional skill, leadership and devotion to their students.

Loring, a respected member of the Jefferson-Morgan School District faculty, has spent 13 years teaching students across multiple grade levels and subject areas. Known for fostering a classroom environment that challenges and supports students in equal measure, she is celebrated for inspiring curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

Her impact extends far beyond daily instruction. Loring leads the school’s Drama Club, is active with the local Lion’s Club, serves her church community and mentors future educators through partnerships with Penn West University and Waynesburg University. She also plays an important role in districtwide professional development and was named Innovator of the Year at Jefferson-Morgan during the 2023-24 school year.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Madeline,” said Bartolotta. “Her hard work and example will continue to inspire students, families and fellow educators across Pennsylvania.”

As Pennsylvania’s Teacher of the Year, Loring will travel the state representing the teaching profession and participate in the 2027 National Teacher of the Year competition.
