HARRISBURG – Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) announced today state grants totaling $265,000 have been awarded to the 46th Senatorial District to support park and recreation improvements through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program.
The grants were funded using natural gas drilling impact fees — not taxpayer dollars.
“These projects will help ensure our parks remain safe, accessible and welcoming places for residents and visitors of all ages,” Bartolotta said. “Investing in recreational infrastructure strengthens our communities, promotes healthy lifestyles and preserves public spaces that families rely on year-round.”
Canonsburg Borough will receive $135,000 for the Canonsburg Town Park Restroom Project. The funding will support improvements to park restroom facilities to better serve park users and enhance overall park functionality.
Washington City will receive $130,000 for the Washington Park Pool Accessibility Project. The project will improve accessibility at the city’s public pool, helping ensure the facility can be safely enjoyed by individuals of all abilities.
The Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program supports projects that promote recreation, conservation and healthy communities across Pennsylvania.
The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development that administers many of the commonwealth’s economic development, infrastructure and community improvement programs.
