Bartolotta Announces $868,534 in Grants to Improve Roads, Bridges

HARRISBURG – Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) today announced state grants totaling $868,534 to improve roads and bridges have been awarded to the 46th District through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

“Maintaining important infrastructure is a core function of government. With this funding, residents will be able to safely travel and enjoy area shops and restaurants because of streetlight replacements and streetscape improvements,” Bartolotta said. “These improvements will benefit residents and help to attract additional businesses to the communities.”

  • The Borough of Waynesburg received $243,554 to replace the bridge on Meadowlark Park Drive.
  • Carroll Township received $228,596 to replace the Hazel Kirk Road Bridge.
  • West Bethlehem Township received $149,384 to replace the bridge on Field and Stream Road.
  • The City of Monongahela received $147,000 to replace streetlights on Main Street.
  • The Borough of Canonsburg received $100,000 for streetscape improvements along Pike Street.

The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development that administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.

Projects funded through the CFA’s Multimodal Transportation Fund program encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to Pennsylvania residents.

The grants are used for transportation development, rehabilitation and enhancement projects, including work to improve streetscapes, lighting, sidewalks, pedestrian safety, transportation system connections and transit-oriented development.
