Bartolotta Announces $2 Million Grant Benefitting Tourism in the 46th District

HARRISBURG – Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46) announced that a $2 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant to benefit tourism was awarded to the district.

$2 million for Meadowcroft Capital Improvements. The project will expand the visitor center multipurpose room at the Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village and reconfigure the front entry. It will also be used to create a pedestrian trail to the Rockshelter and a picnic pavilion/outdoor covered program space, as well as to replace stairs leading up the cliff face to the archaeological site.

“Improving tourist attractions in the area directly benefits the local economy as people from out of town spend money on hotel stays and meals from our restaurants,” Bartolotta said. “The resulting economic growth and development are great reasons to invest in tourism, so I am humbled that I was able to help secure the funding.”

RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are state-funded and cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
