Six Washington County Employers Receive COVID-19 Emergency Loans

HARRISBURG – Six employers in Washington County will receive emergency loans totaling more than $585,000 through a new program created last month to help small businesses deal with the challenges related to the COVID-19 public health emergency, according to Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The funding was awarded through the COVID-19 Working Capital Access Program, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).

Loan recipients include:

  • Big G Tire Company.
  • Fenerb, LLC.
  • Webb & Associates.
  • Model Apparel, LLC.
  • Model Dry Cleaners, LLC.
  • Michael G. Scarton, DCPC.

“Although we still have more work to do to ensure our hardworking small business owners have the resources they need to continue to operate and provide vital jobs for communities, I am pleased that some of our local employers are beginning to receive these vital funds,” Bartolotta said.

The program provides low-interest loans of up to $100,000 to be used as working capital for businesses with 100 or fewer full-time employees. Payments and interest are waived during the first year of the loan.

More than $10 million was awarded in the first round of funding, and PIDA and DCED staff are continuing to review applications to distribute funding to more small businesses in the weeks ahead. A total of $60 million is available through the program.
