Local Volunteer Emergency Responders Receive State Grants

HARRISBURG – Local volunteer fire, ambulance and EMS companies will receive a total of $892,000 in grant funding from the state, according to Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The grants are awarded as part of the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Company Grant Program, which helps eligible organizations fund facility renovations and/or construction, equipment purchases, debt reduction and training.

Seventy-five volunteer organizations in the 46th Senatorial District received grants ranging from $6,678 to $23,922.

“Fundraising is a constant concern for volunteer emergency responders, and every dollar they receive helps them perform their life-saving duties,” Bartolotta said. “I am very pleased that these grants will help each of these organizations get the training, equipment and facilities they need to fulfill their mission.
