Washington County Airport Receives State Grant

HARRISBURG — Washington County Airport will receive a $1 million grant to purchase an existing hangar and office, according to Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The grant is expected to allow the county to continue providing essential hangar space and aviation-related office space.

The funding was awarded through the Aviation Transportation Assistance Program, which is a capital budget grant program funded with bonds. Statewide, $5.4 million in grants have been awarded through the program this year, as well as $3.4 million in state funding from the Aviation Development Program.

“Our local airports fill a critical need for passengers and businesses alike,” said Bartolotta, who serves on the Senate Aviation Caucus. “I applaud the Department of Transportation for recognizing the importance of this facility and taking steps to improve our local aviation infrastructure.”
