State Grant Awarded to Rehabilitate Washington County Airport Access Road

HARRISBURG – A $450,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will support the rehabilitation of the main access roadway at the Washington County Airport, according to Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The grant will also fund other necessary improvements along the roadway, Bartolotta said.

“The Washington County Airport produces more than $42 million to the local economy and supports hundreds of family-sustaining jobs in the region. It is encouraging to see these additional state investments supporting this critical piece of our local economy,” Bartolotta said.

Other grants awarded to the Washington County Airport over the past two years have aided in the construction of a new taxiway and the purchase of additional hangar space and office space.

The airport was one of 26 facilities across Pennsylvania sharing $6.2 million in grants during the current round of funding from PennDOT’s Aviation Development Program and Multimodal fund.
