State Grant Awarded for Washington County Economic Development Project

HARRISBURG – A state grant will help expand business development and job growth in Cecil Township through the creation of a new business and commercial park, according to Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The $1 million grant will aid in the acquisition and development of 250 acres of land and the installation of critical infrastructure, including roads, gas, water and electricity. When completed, the Cool Valley Business Park could provide up to three million square feet of office and building space.

“This project has tremendous potential to expand economic growth and job opportunities to not only our region, but throughout the Commonwealth,” Bartolotta said. “Specifically, the grant will be used to develop a mixed-use business park which will offer office and retail space, warehouses, hotel accommodations and even a medical center. The area has become a hub for residential and business development over the past few years and this project will build upon the park’s success for generations to come.”

The funding was awarded as part of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which supports regional economic and business development programs throughout the state.
