State Funding Awarded for Dunkard Valley Water System Extension

HARRISBURG – A grant of more than $5.1 million and a low-interest loan of more than $10.5 million will help upgrade the water system in Dunkard Valley, according to Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The grant and loan will allow the Southwestern PA Water Authority to install a new water storage tank and replace or install approximately 113,000 feet of water line to reach the Dunkard Valley Joint Municipal Authority’s system. The new system will eliminate and replace the aging existing distribution system.

The project is expected to help reduce contaminant level violations, water outages, boil water advisories and other supply concerns by ensuring water is provided by a more capable system with a safer supply.

The funding was awarded by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority.
