Bartolotta to Join Health Care Advocates for “Stop The Bleed” Event

HARRISBURG – Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46) will join other lawmakers and health care representatives for a news conference on Tuesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. in the state Capitol Building’s East Wing Rotunda to raise awareness of a new initiative to prevent death from uncontrolled blood loss.

The event will be held in conjunction with the “Stop The Bleed” campaign, which is designed to help educate the general public about ways to stop serious bleeding after an injury occurs. The campaign also aims to help law enforcement and emergency responders learn more about how to teach these techniques to others.

Organizations that are scheduled to participate include:

  • UPMC,
  • Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation,
  • University of Pennsylvania Trauma System,
  • Geisinger Health,
  • Einstein Medical Center, and
  • Temple University.
