Bartolotta Applauds Beaver County Shell Plant Announcement

HARRISBURG – Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46) issued the following statement today in response to news that Royal Dutch Shell will move forward with plans to build a petrochemical plant in Beaver County:

“The creation of this plant is fantastic news for Beaver County and southwestern Pennsylvania. The plant will not only provide hundreds of direct jobs for community residents, but also holds the potential to support thousands of other jobs in related industries throughout the region. I appreciate the hard work of our local and state officials, Shell representatives, industry advocates and others who helped bring this plan to fruition.

“The fact that Royal Dutch Shell is still moving forward on this tremendous investment at a time of historic low oil and gas prices is a testament to our Commonwealth’s commitment to developing our abundant natural resources. I am hopeful that construction of this new facility will serve as another reminder of the importance of supporting the oil and gas industries and the jobs and economic opportunities these industries provide, and I look forward to seeing the positive effects of this project in local communities.”
